Buds

Today, while brudder was at school, Keeghan and I took a walk instead of doing our chores. Just trying to make sure I instill a good grasp of what’s really important while he’s still little. And later, we had a Playdate!

Total mileage: 2.11 high priority miles.

Mad Dogs and Englishmen

I will spare you the boring saga of how we ended up taking our walk in the noonday sun. But I will divulge that, because Keeghan is an exceptional baby, he obliged by going to sleep almost immediately and staying that way for over two miles.

Total mileage: 2.5 totally worth it albeit hours delayed miles!

Lemme go wild

We explored the wetland today. We saw an egret, a beaver lodge, tadpoles, a big fish, geese, ducks, and so much more. We met amazing people- birders who taught us about egrets, a woman who’s rescuing an abused puppy, and families out learning stuff.

Total mileage: 2.17 miles.
Happiness: 100%

Keep them doggies rollin’

Keeghan and I took to the trails and got a very rough mile in before it was time to Go Get Brudder. Then, the three of us headed into the woods, where we found a perfect bridge for pooh sticks, learned Why We Don’t Walk Into A Pricker Bush. And discussed the perils of Poison Ivy. We also learned that trees without leaves cannot actually be considered “shade.” in other words, I’ve achieved the summer’s inaugural sunburn.

River Watch

Bitty Dude was fast asleep when we got to the marina, so I told Mister he could look at the river from the sunroof. There is a whole system of parks along the Potomac where you can park your car and hike, jog, or bike along the river, if nap time doesn’t hinder you.

Doing the “do.”

20120311-215048.jpg
One of Ian’s many “things,” and unfortunately one of the hardest to humor, is a dislike for getting his head wet/having his hair washed. I try to give him as much control over the process as I can without actually giving up on hygiene. So please understand how HUGE it is when I say… He let the stylist wash his hair. And, because everyone should go to this salon, the employees all applauded him.

Plus, I love my hair.

And certain people made themselves very popular by flirting with everyone. Hands off the fuzzy baby head, ladies…
