…tidy up time

I pointed out that if we had “Tidy Up Time” this evening, we’d get to “Waffle Time” a lot quicker in the morning. Because Ian’s room usually looks like this:

And I’m not notoriously patient before breakfast. Some of us interpreted “Tidy Up Time” this way:

Mixed Blessing

Last night while putting Keeghan to bed, I noticed that one of Froggy’s arms was sopping wet. When I asked Keeghan how it got all wet, he reached out and took it from me.

Then, he curled up in that snugly little comma shape, popped one of Foggy’s arms in his mouth, and gazed lovingly into Froggy’s eyes. Then, he blissfully made the sign for “milk.”

This is awesome and amazing and it means he’s not only learned to soothe himself with his lovey but that he understands that that’s what he’s doing.

And it’s awful and terrible because, until that moment, that look belonged to ME. I want him to grow up and be independent, but I wasn’t expecting it to start so soon.

The greatest feeling

Thousands of moms didn’t wake up to this today- the sight of their whole family, happy and healthy together. While I snapped this, a mom near you was packing a bag for a day at the NICU, where she will watch her baby fight- hard- for what we take for granted. Doesn’t every baby deserve to come home healthy? Doesn’t every little brother deserve to frolic with His Loud Things?

This year we will celebrate Keeghan’s  first birthday by marching for healthy babies. It seems like the perfect way to mark the anniversary of his amazing, beautiful, healthy, joyful entry to this world, and a great way to give thanks for our two healthy kids. You can help! Here’s how:

Donate to our page! every donation helps, whether it’s a little or a lot. All our sponsors will be featured on our stroller! Because you guys are the BEST.

Join out team! It’s free to join, and you’re encouraged to do so whether you’ll walk or not- you can raise money and awareness even if you’re unable to attend.

Enter our team’s MFB giveaways, and spread the word! Right now we have a 4 person pass to the Playseum running, and there’s way more good stuff coming!

No brownies

I took the bitty dude to meet up with friends at the coffee shop. For some reason, they had no brownies. What kind of coffee shop doesn’t have brownies? I thought there was a rule.

Fortunately, my date was very handsome.

There is no squirrel

I spent the night dreaming about squirrels in the attic. Not just your garden variety squirrel, but tiny flashlight-toting squirrels who were spying on us from above. What can I say- night time is never boring. We discussed the squirrels this morning.

007: so, Ian, do you think there really are squirrels in our attic?
Ian: No!
Michael: How about raccoons?
Ian: just my pet one. He’s very nice. HISK, HISK.
Me: There is no raccoon.
