I’ve been workin’

The Littlest Engineer is enjoying his train set and his grandparent time today. The bittiest dude and I had a rough night. He’s coming down with a cold, so he only wants to sleep on me. But I still have a cough from last weekend’s illness round-robin, so, every time he finally settles, I start coughing and wake him. Which means he is a very tired, cross, congested baby.

He’s also passed out on Rama’s lap. At last, Mommy has quit tormenting the baby.

Ian explains humor

Ian: knock, knock.
Me: (with sinking heart) Who’s there?
Ian: Banana peel!
Me: Banana peel who?
Ian: you! Now it’s your turn to say “knock knock!”
Me: knock, knock.
Ian: who’s there?
Me: I don’t know.
Ian: no, you’re supposed to say a fruit, a vegetable or anyone else.
Me: a fruit, a vegetable, or anyone else.
Ian: say “grapes.”
….
Ian: knock knock.
Me: who’s there?
Ian: no, say ‘Monkey.’
Me: no, there’s no monkey.
Ian: yes there is. Now, just say ‘monkey.’

I tried to tell you

Keeghan’s afternoon nap today was a total bust. I eventually gave up on it and took him for a walk, instead. And my darling boy just threw his arms around me, stared soulfully into my eyes and said, “NAP.”

Like I had been keeping him up.

Day’s Done

My children are amazing. Sweet. Sound asleep. We had adventures today. We all got kisses today. I loved them so hard it hurt today. My seasonal allergies are acting up and I feel six different kinds of awful, and all I can think about is how I can’t wait to see them again in the morning.

So, goodnight to you. I’ll be here again, same time, tomorrow.
