I went to go settle the baby during story time and came back to this:
Rise and shine
In which I win… Kind of.
Ian would not believe that these aren’t “just like” Oreos. (yes, things like this are why moms shop alone.) Too tired to argue, I agreed to buy them, but cautioned him that they weren’t what he was expecting.
Apparently I was quite right, to the surprise if NEARLY no one. I’m told that he took one bite, went to the trash can, and spit it out. I tried them and they are quite good, but not a bit like Oreos. So I am now the proud owner of a box of cookies no one but me will eat. Sadly, I WILL. I think we can file this under “moral victory.”
Pizza
Sick or healthy. We all must eat. So we went out for pizza and got groceries.
Everyone was fever free as of this afternoon, and only I seem to still be congested. (007 seems to have dodged this bullet. What else would you expect?)
And it wasn’t until we were in the car, headed home, and I asked myself just why I felt so tired and crummy… That I remembered I got up for the day at 4 am. Never mind…
Waffles
This morning all us Sick Folk decided to be early risers, so I announced that we would have Tidy Up Time, followed by TV Time and, finally, Waffle Time.
Never have I seen such a showing for Tidy Up Time. It was like an unstoppable force of neatness rolled through my home.
Only one person was not thrilled by this… Sorry, kid, you’re not ready for eggs just yet.
Sick Miserable Dudes
Dominoes
Keeghan was the first to fall, but I’m sure we can trace this back to preschool if we try.
Keeghan woke up feverish and glassy eyed yesterday. By bedtime, Ian also had a fever and a very charming runny nose. This morning, I have reached the fever plus runny nose stage. 007 has either escaped, or is due for his fever in approximately 12 hours. Wish us luck!
Gunwales Awash
A Boy and his Raba
When Mommy Takes Me to See Groovy Nate
The first time we went, Keeghan didn’t know quite what to make of it. But today he was dancing in my lap, waving his arms, and trying to sing along.
You’ve just got to love a children’s performer who teaches your baby to love different musical genres… A sampling of acoustic blues, rap, folk songs, and original work sure beats the pants off your typical “kids’ music.”
Besides… If you want your baby to grow up to be a Blues Man, you gotta start him young.
